JR Ergo Z230

I got a gasser serveral years ago. My first gasser.
Cleaned it, went over it, changed some things, fixed it ready to fly (2016...).
Anyone flying JR gassers in Finland? This one is heavy, 6,8 kg if I remember right.

- JR's semi symmetric carbon-blades
- Komatsu Zenoah G230PUH 23cc gasser
- CSM ICG-360 HH-gyro
- HiModel 8A UBEC
- 3S 2200 LiPo
- Aileron- and Elevator-servos 4kg JR NES-4721
- Pitch-servo 8kg JR NES-2825
- Rudder-servo 2,45kg JR NES-810G
- Throttle-servo 2.9 kg JR NES-517

Ready to fly! (and yes it is for sale, just got another gasser)

I'd be willing to bet hardly anyone flies gassers in Finland, let alone JR :D Haikara probably still has a gasser Elyq.

When was the last time you flew this JR?

Yes... electric is the most common today... good and boring 8) I got it 2011, used. It is from 1999. Old one!
I have never even started it. But I have made it 100% ready for flight, hopefully this spring.
I like renovating old helis and make them fly again. Have done two Concepts and a Kalt Baron Long Ranger.
Schlüter on one table now. ;-) Some people like to have them on the shelf, nostalgia.
I do have a Vario that is going to be a Hughes 300C, ofcourse with a petrol-engine, soon with electric onboard starter.

I flew my friend's TRex700 gasser two weeks ago in Nastola - trim flights for it. Flies well, makes horrible noise (a matter of opinion) in the air.

Ok, the gassers do not have the raw power of electrics. Gassers also create lots of vibrations for gyro, which could lead to tuning problems. Gassers do however offer long flying times for cruising around or for basic aerobatics. Flight times 30-45 minutes are easily reachable. Gasoline is cheap, you can buy it almost everywhere and does not go old/broken easily.... aand you don't need to carry and buy an Engine-generator as you have it allready on board  8)
