Gone mainstream...

bought a T-Rex 450... bought a BeastX... now I bought a Scorpion motor ... the usual suspects.
In my rcheliaddicts signature, this heli is listed as "Copycat" (me too).

Anyway, I did today a brief test flight in the dark with the new setup. The power is frightening - it almost jumped out of sight the first time. And on 3s!
Can't tell how it will stand the test of time, but so far it looks very promising. The motor is 2221-6 V2.

Kyle Dahl said he uses a 13 tooth pinion. I decided to slow down my video :) and settled on 12. Still, the headspeed is otherworldly. I might go down to 11 eventually to get more flight time.
Now I hope that the BeastX lives up to expectations with the new software.

yes, Pro.
I've had it for a while, but it was equipped with old electronics and stable but pretty uninspiring.

the motor is great, but 'm not that happy with the BeastX yet.

alright. I got the beastX somehow sorted out. It's not perfect, but probably my flying will adapt to it, too.

The motor has crazy power.
It needs the LiPos at room temperature, otherwise performance is lost. Hentta earlier today was nice, but I did another flight under floodlight in the evening, and non-frozen packs make a huge difference.

It's a bit sad, but possibly this is now my most capable heli. For stick-bangin' 3D, nothing can replace power.
The catch is, it's very small and very fast and very twitchy.

We can't blame the heli for the latter - the more punch it has at full collective, the smaller the corrections in "normal" flying. And the same on aileron / elevator - the maximum roll rates are very fast, and it follows that the sticks get more sensitive.
