Hi,
if anybody is considering an upgraded motor for a 450:
Robotbirds has the Hyperion 2221-6 discounted.
http://robotbirds.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=2947 (http://robotbirds.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=2947)
It should be equivalent to the Scorpion 2221-6, but with better bearings (or so they say...)
For some pennies more you get this one
http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/scorpion_hk-2221-6_brushless_motor-p-3846.html (http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/scorpion_hk-2221-6_brushless_motor-p-3846.html)
which has been tested and approved by yours truly :)
It has quite crazy power on a 12 tooth pinion, and runs efficient (4:00 minutes "grandma's flying" 3D on a 3s 2200 mAh pack).
I've tried with flat 100 throttle curve - it didn't explode - and use governed 80 % most of the time for longer flying time.
I'm using a 60 amps YGE ESC, BTW.
This motor has really brought my 450 to life...

Scorpionista ja laakereista kun on kyse samassa lauseessa, "eri laakerit" on yhtä kuin "paremmat laakerit". :D

The link says Scorpion HK2221-6 is discounted. Hyperion equivalent of that motor is Hyperion HS 2221-4400 (HS2221-4400). Anyway I fly with Hyperion motors (only) too :)
